Chapter E018 – Luche and the Dreamhouse
Ruri took a look at the gate of her new home, feeling a mix of excitement and anticipation.
She turned on her T-Bracelet, and a holographic screen lit up before her. Navigating to the Tokyo Residential website, she entered a specific house code. The screen displayed a city map, quickly zooming into her location. A gilded house icon marked her property, emphasizing her full ownership of the land.
She tapped on the icon and selected the option to open the gate. The process was fully automated and completed in moments. Soon, the gate began to slide open with a soft hum. An AI voice from the holographic screen greeted her warmly,
"Welcome, Miss Yasaka. Please proceed."
Ruri set the car to automatic drive, inputting the destination as the front door of the house. As the car moved through the open gate, she gazed at her new property, admiring its grandeur.
The yard was impressively spacious, with a wide road that could comfortably accommodate two cars passing each other. At the center of the yard stood a water fountain adorned with koi fish statues arranged in a circle. Each statue sprayed water from its mouth in a synchronized display.
Unfortunately there are still some imperfection. The land in the yard was still barren, as no plants had yet taken root. But it was only a matter of time for it to become beautiful.
Finally, her eyes were drawn to the house itself—a three-story building shaped like the letter H when looked from above.
The car stopped in front of the house’s large front door. But before stepping out the car, Ruri slipped her jacket and shorts back on.
As much as she appreciated her newfound privacy, she knew the house’s AI system was likely a standard commercial product. Such systems, while advanced enough to emulate emotions and offer life quality improvement advice, often uploaded user data to their parent companies for further development. Before she adjusted the AI, it was better to be dressed appropriately.
Ruri gently picked up Kuu, who chirped softly in her arms, and exited the car. She walked to the front door, her heart fluttering as she prepared to explore her dream house for the first time.

The first sight that greeted her was nothing short of majestic. The main hall opened up before her, an expansive space with an open ceiling that connected to the second and third floors via elegantly designed staircases on either side.
A gentle sound of flowing water caught her attention, and her eyes were drawn upward. From the third floor, a small artificial waterfall cascaded gracefully, its water shimmering under the soft, ambient lighting. The stream fell into a clear fish pond on the first floor, creating a soothing atmosphere. This wasn’t a virtual simulation but a real, artificial waterfall regulated by a state-of-the-art pump system and equipped with water filtration technology to keep it pristine.
She took a deep breath, letting the tranquility of the space sink in. A soft smile tugged at her lips.
“This place... it’s perfect.”
Before she could explore further, the sound of whirring motors filled the air. A line of various robots emerged from side passages, moving into formation before her.
They ranged from small cleaning bots to humanoid assistants, each bowing slightly in a gesture of welcome. Above them, a shimmering ball of light materialized, floating midair and radiating a soft glow. The holographic orb projected a welcoming voice that resonated clearly in the hall.
“Greetings, Miss Yasaka Ruri. Welcome to your new home. I am the primary AI of this residence, model Alpha-037, developed by Gaia Corporation and installed by Tenz Company. As per protocol, I currently lack a personalized name and parameters. Please assign me a name and define additional settings at your convenience.”
Ruri tilted her head thoughtfully, considering the request.
Naming an AI felt strangely personal, and she wanted something simple for now. Seeing the shape of the AI which was like a ball of light, she suddenly had an idea how to name it.
After a brief pause, she responded,
“Let’s call you Luche. Also, from now on, just call me ‘Master’. As for the other parameters, I’ll decide them later.”
The orb pulsed softly, as if acknowledging her choice.
“Luche it is. Thank you, Master. I look forward to serving you.”
Satisfied with the interaction, Ruri turned her attention back to the hall, her curiosity piqued by the grandeur surrounding her.
She began to wander, her steps and the chiming sound of the bell in her ankle echoing softly against the polished floors. Luche floated alongside her, ready to assist and answer any questions she might have.
“Luche, can you give me a tour of the house?”
Ruri asked while cradling Kuu in her arms.
“Of course, Master. Allow me to guide you,”
Luche replied, its glow intensifying slightly.
They started with the first floor of the front building. Luche pointed out the living room, a spacious area with plush seating and a large holo-TV device mounted on the wall. Adjacent to it was the recreational room, equipped with various entertainment devices and a cozy reading corner. They moved on to the dining room and the kitchen area, both designed with a sleek, modern aesthetic. The kitchen featured state-of-the-art appliances, and Luche assured her that meal preparation could be fully automated if she wished.
Next, they explored the large bathroom, which resembled an onsen. It had a separate bathing area and a warm water pool, complete with temperature controls and soothing lighting to replicate a spa-like atmosphere.
Returning to the main hall, Luche directed her attention to the lift. This lift connected all three floors, and with a simple press of a button, they ascended to the second floor.
On the second floor, they entered two multipurpose rooms, one in the west wing and the other in the east wing.
“These rooms can be divided with wall dividers that emerge from the floor at your command,”
Luche demonstrated the feature with a simple voice command. These two rooms offered a great deal of flexibility. They could easily be divided into separate areas for different uses, such as a bedroom, a storage room, or a study room, making them ideal for a variety of needs.
Finally, they reached the third floor, which housed a massive greenhouse combined with an indoor pool. While the greenhouse was currently empty, Luche assured her that it was equipped with advanced systems for maintaining various plant species. The indoor pool sparkled under the overhead lights, inviting and serene.
She instructed the house robots, who promptly carried the pots toward the greenhouse area.
Another box revealed her stash of Elixirs.
“Have these moved to the kitchen refrigerator,”
A few of the house robots immediately sprang into action, carefully transporting the Elixirs to their designated storage.
Finally, Ruri reached the last and largest box. When the box was opened, she found her beloved Executive type Capsule Pod. It was a vital device for her gaming life.
She then said to the courier.
“This Capsule Pod, install it on the third floor, the installation place has been prepared there.”
The courier nodded, activating his visor and tapping the air to direct the drones.
“Understood, we’ll handle the installation.”
With the drones carrying the Capsule Pod and its components, the courier followed, ensuring proper installation.
The installation process of the Capsule Pod did not take too long. The drones worked efficiently under the courier's guidance, carefully placing the pod in the designated space on the third floor and connecting it to the house’s power and network systems. Once the setup was complete, the courier confirmed everything was functional, then left with a polite nod.

As silence returned to the house, Ruri stood in front of the newly installed Capsule Pod, her thoughts wandering. Her gaze shifted to Luche, hovering nearby like a dutiful assistant.
She reflected on Luche's performance so far.
The AI was undeniably impressive, offering a level of service and integration that her old house AI in Kyoto could never achieve. Luche's ability to seamlessly manage the house, assist with deliveries, and even provide detailed explanations was a demonstration to the advancements in AI technology. It was evident that Luche had been tuned specifically for this house’s systems, and replacing it would likely lead to countless troubles and complications.
As for privacy problem, since Luche's developer was Gaia Corporation, then it shouldn't make much difference. Ruri’s thoughts drifted to the Capsule Pod’s usage requirements which also developed by the same corporation.
To access VR-Dive technology, the device mandated a full-body scan, with the data encrypted and stored in Gaia Corporation’s database. Officially, this data was managed exclusively by AI, with strict assurances that no human could access or decrypt it. Yet, skepticism lingered in her mind. Stories and speculations about potential data breaches or misuse—like curious staff decrypting sensitive information—had circulated for years. Gaia Corporation had always maintained that such scenarios were impossible, but the truth remained elusive.
Turning her focus back to Luche, she decided to address the matter directly.
“Luche, I understand that user data is uploaded for analysis. Can you clarify exactly what kind of data is collected and how it’s used?”
Ruri began, crossing her arms thoughtfully.
Luche’s glowing orb brightened slightly as it responded, its voice calm and reassuring.
“Master, it is true that the owner’s data—including behavior, habits, and preferences—is uploaded for analysis to improve the AI’s ability to serve you better. This process is fully automated and handled by AI systems without any human intervention. You can rest assured that your privacy is maintained, as no human has access to this data.”
This answer certainly felt like a standard response that AI customer service would give. But from this answer, no new information could be obtained. It wasn't enough to convince Ruri's skepticism.
Ruri tilted her head slightly, considering Luche’s explanation.
“I see. But I’m not entirely comfortable with my data being uploaded. I’d prefer to turn off this feature. Is that possible?”
Luche paused briefly before replying.
“Master, I understand your concern. Data collection is a core functionality of my system, designed to enhance my service capabilities. However, I can adjust the settings to limit the data collected to the bare minimum required for essential operations. Would you like me to proceed with this adjustment?”
Ruri shook her head firmly.
“Not enough. I forbid you to have any interaction with anything on the internet unless I specifically instruct you to do so. Can you comply with that?”
Ruri’s concern wasn’t about the potential exposure of her body. Such things didn’t bother her much. What truly worried her was the possibility of someone discovering her unique ability to materialize game items in the real world. If such information were to leak, it could bring about significant complications.
Luche dimmed momentarily, as if processing the request.
“Understood, Master. I will disable all internet interactions unless explicitly commanded by you. Please note that this may limit certain advanced functionalities.”
Ruri gave a satisfied nod and the matter was settled.
She reflected briefly that she had lived perfectly well even with the old house AI in Kyoto, which lacked any personality model or advanced features. Rather than an AI's services, she valued her privacy more.
Now that the house issue was resolved, it was time to call Astrid to inform her that she had arrived at the new house. However, when she turned on her T-Bracelet, a notification caught her eye. There was an announcement for an internal guild meeting scheduled for this afternoon.
In that case, there was no hurry to call Astrid now. The time was still in the morning, leaving plenty of time to accomplish other things. She decided to log in and visit her Territory.
But before that, she began removing the clothes that made her feel stuffy.
